Victoria Falls
What can you expect from Victoria Falls as a destination? These impressive waterfalls are on the border of Zambia and Zimbabwe. The waterfall is part of the Zambezi River and is the world's largest waterfall, with a width of 1,7 kilometers. The width and height combined result in the world's largest sheet of falling water. The falls are roughly twice as heigh and well over twice as wide as North America's Niagara Falls. Expect to run into some unexpected wildife along the Elephant Corridor between the Zambian city Livingstone and the city Victoria Falls on the Zimbabwe side. Near Livingstone we visit a local community that is know for its wooden sculptures.
Unforgettable activities
There are a series of adrenaline filled activities to do at the falls. Some high wire activities are ziplining, the gorge swing and the Flying Fox. You can also bungee jump off Victoria Falls Bridge on the border of the two countries. What about a helicopter or microlight flight over the falls or even do a Tandem Skydive! You can swim at the edge of Victoria Falls in Devil’s Pool, but if you prefer to stay dry on top of the water, don’t worry! On the Zambezi River you can go canoeing, white water rafting or spot hippos on a sunset boat cruise. If you’re looking for a unique stay, then spend the night at the Royal Livingstone Hotel on the Zambezi River bank where the giraffes and other animals walk around between the lodges.
